The Chairman of Ndokwa-West Local Government Area in Delta State, Chief Godday Obi Nzete, has vowed to fish out those who killed a Fulani herdsman and cows in Amorji Community, Fresh Angle International can report.

The Acting Assistant Director of Information/Head of Information Unit, Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Blessing Uduma, reports that Hon. Nzete, made the vow during a meeting held between the Fulani herdsmen, people of Amorji/Ibabu Community as well as security operatives in Kwale today, Thursday March 25.

While thanking the herders for maintaining peace in the face of the provocation, the Ndokwa West Chief Security Officer, appealed to the Fulani herdsmen in the Community not to carry out any reprisal attack, so as not to escalate the fragile security situation.

Hon. Nzete, stated that he was acting on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's instruction in the determination to bring lasting peace to Amorji Community, even as he called on the herders to stop night grazing.

He pointed out that cow grazing is a business venture and frowned at the situation where farmers are compensated with peanuts when their crops are destroyed, compared to where the herders are paid huge sums of money when their cows are killed.

Chief Nzete, advised the herders to liaise with the community leaders, in order to foster peaceful co-existence and urged the Fulanis to stop the usage of under-aged herders.

Spokesman of the herders, Yahaya Mohammed, reportedly claimed that youths of Amorji Community invaded their camps in March 14 and 15 respectively, killed one of the herders, 12 of their cows and burnt a motorbike.

Representatives of security operatives at the meeting include, the Police, Army, Immigration, DSS, Civil Defense, SIB, NDLEA and FRSC.
