Attacks on Olori Atuwatse III’s appointment as member of Delta Transition Committee, act of desperation by a failed sect - Edema

The National Publicity Secretary of Itsekiri Consultative Congress, ICC, Comr. Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, says the criticisms emanating as a result of the appointment of her Highness, Olori Atuwatse III (Wife of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III) as member of Transition Committee announced by Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oberovwori, are: “Malicious and borne out of desperation by a failed sect of people, to not only tarnish our Olori and Warri Kingdom, but put her in bad light as being involved in partisan politics.”

Edema, the immediate Past President, National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, made the declaration in a statement sent to Fresh Angle International this evening, Friday April 28.

He stated: “The name of Her Highness has generated many unwarranted vile utterances on both private and public social media handles.

“While we are not holding brief for the Delta State Governor-elect or our Revered Olori Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III, we wish to state that the attack on her person or the throne of Warri Kingdom is nothing but malicious and out of desperation by a failed sect of people to not only tarnish our Olori and Warri Kingdom but put her in bad light as being involved in partisan politics which is far from the truth.

“The truth is that Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III passion and competency in improving quality education has seen her working with the Lagos state Government (APC State), recently got appointed into the FG agency on education (APC controlled), and currently working with the Finish Government on Education.

“We believe the Governor-elect saw Olori Atuwatse III sterling quality and hence saw it as an honour to have her as a member of the transition committee, probably with the aim that this will see her make impute especially on areas of quality education in the state education curriculum when the Governor-elect assumes office.

“Olori Atuwatse III is neither APC nor PDP, and is non-partisan, especially with Her position as the Olori of Warri Kingdom.

“We are therefore taken aback by the callous vituperations of some political jobbers and unpatriotic elements, masquerading as Patriots spewing garbage on Facebook and other social media platforms, under the guise of condemning the nomination of Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III as member of the Delta State transition committee.

“We wish to put on record that Olori Atuwatse III has never seek political patronage or validation from any political party or government, but she is not averse to working with any duly elected government either at the State, Federal Level or Nations of the world on areas of qualitative education.

“The engagement of Olori Atuwatse III in areas of qualitative education worldwide is in line with the vision of His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR (as captured in his speech on his ascension to the throne) that during his reign "our Women will no longer be invisible".

“While we appreciate the Delta State Governor-elect for seeing it as an honour to have Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III as member of the Delta State transition committee, we strongly believe that the decision to accept the nomination into the committee or not, solely lies on Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III.”
