The Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, the amphibious arm of the service in-charge of the southern part of the country in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State says it has recently organized a monthly work-life balance and aerobic exercise in collaboration with the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (AHFGE) our Correspondent reports.
This was contained in a press release issued, signed and made available by the Command's Public Relations Officer,Chief Superintendent of Customs CSC Emmanuel Tangwa in Port Harcourt Thursday.
Speaking on the essence of the exercise, the Customs Area Controller, Eastern Marine Command, Comptroller Chika Dim, stated that the aim was to promote physical wellbeing, teamwork and camaraderie among participants.
The Customs Marine Command boss added “The importance of physical fitness and work-life balance in accordance with the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR is to encourage participants to prioritize their health and well-being", even as he highlighted the benefits of regular exercise and stress management.
Responding ,the chairperson of the (AHFGE,) Rivers state chapter, Mrs Ifeyinwa James represented by the vice chairman of the Association Mr. Abdul-Salami Babatunde, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Comptroller, Nigeria Customs Service, Eastern Marine Command,
Comptroller Dim, for his unwavering commitment to the Association with the initiative of a Work-Life Balance and Aerobic exercise for her members.
Emphasing the role of the initiative, she said “the role of this initiative in achieving organizational goals through a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance cannot be overemphasized.”
The highlights of the event include Work-life Balance, which focused on strategies for achieving a healthy work -Life balance including stress and time management techniques.
Others were Aerobic Exercises where participants engaged in a fun and energetic aerobic sessions with experts for physical fitness and wellbeing and also the team building which focused on team work among participants and encouraged the sense of unity and cooperation.
The statement noted that at the end of the Exercise, participants adjudged it worthwhile and appreciated the controller Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller CC Dim, for such a laudable initiative which according to them promoted a healthy work environment, healthy wellbeing and a positive work culture and they expressed their commitment to making it a monthly exercise.
