Delta: Tribunal’s verdict showed Omo-Agege was chasing shadows, a sore loser - PDP Grassroots Network
Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori

The PDP Grassroots Network, says the unanimous decision of the three- member Delta State Governorship Election Petition tribunal, headed by Chibuzo Ahuchaogu, to dismiss the petition filed by the Delta State All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the last general election, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, showed that Senator Omo-Agege, “was just chasing shadows and a sore loser.”

Fresh Angle International can report that the tribunal earlier today, Friday September 29, dismissed the petition filed by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege against Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP, “on the grounds that it (the petition) lacked merit.”

The Coordinator of PDP Grassroots Network, Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, in a statement made available to This Newspaper this evening, averred: “The unanimous decision of the tribunal to dismiss the petition of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a pointer to the fact that the margin of our Governor's victory at the gubernatorial polls in March, was too wide, credible, and beyond doubt to be contested in Court.”

Edema, who advised the former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, “to heed to voice of wisdom and jettison the thought of going on an Appeal and congratulate the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on his well-deserved victory”, congratulated the Governor, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori on his victory today at the Tribunal in Asaba.

The Tribunal had held that the issues raised by Senator Omo-Agege were speculative, “since the petitioners failed to prove allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, and corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.”
