The Acting Paramount Ruler of Akenfa Community in Bayelsa State, Chief Gilimoni Thompson has refuted claims from Agudama community over a land dispute between the two communities which has claimed the life of one person.
Chief Thompson said at his Palace in Yenagoa that the only problem in Akenfa is the refusal of former Paramount Ruler of the community, Chief Isiya Albert to vacate the throne at the expiration of his second term in office.
Responding, the Police Public Relations Officer of Bayelsa State, DSP Asini Botswat said he was aware of the land dispute between the two communities which occurred some months back, but could not ascertain the current situation of things.
Chief Thompson said that the contractors of the Community Bridge and Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC have been brought back to site with the intervention of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC as a result of his effort.
Meanwhile, the Paramount Ruler of Agudama community, His Royal Highness, Chief Wisdom Franklin has charged the Nigeria Police Force, NPF to ensure the speedy prosecution of the suspected killer of a young man (name withheld) on February 26, 2016 and the alleged
harassment of Mr. Otomodimo Simeon on April 16, 2016 over a land dispute between Agudama and Akenfa communities.
Chief Franklin claimed some youths of Akenfa community invaded their farm lands, chasing their indigenes out of the land.
