FG negotiating with avengers from the position of weakness-Israel Akpodoro

The National Coalition for Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, has condemned the dialogue by the Federal Government with the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA and other militant groups in the Delta region because it is a negotiation from the position of weakness rather than the other way round. 

The Coalition's President, Israel Akpodoro who stated this in Warri Thursday June 16, 2016 added that the FG was indirectly engaged in dialogue with the wanted ex-militant leader, Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, A.K.A Tompolo whom he said prides himself above the law.

Visibly angry stated that “the President Muhammadu Buhari is negotiating from the position of weakness rather than the other way round noting that the tail was wagging the dog.

The FG ought to have demanded that those calling for dialogue produce the fugitive before any talk could hold. To dialogue with the Avengers and other ethnic militias in the region was an outright dialogue with the man - Tompolo who allegedly plundered the resources meant to develop the region. The former administration deliberately armed the Gbaramatu born fugitive to cause the havoc Nigerians are witnessing through the so called Avengers”.

Akpodoro holds that the cancellation of the take-off of the Nigerian Maritime University, NMU, by the FG was occasioned by the looting of the fund meant for the take-off of the University by a cabal stressing that the dialogue may not achieve the desired peace until the law catches up with those who plundered the resources of the region and queried the wisdom behind the payment of the University fund to Tompolo whom he noted wasn't the owner of the land neither was he the contractor handling the construction project of the then proposed university by the previous administration but for want of stealing.

According to him, “the same rascality impeded the establishment of the Export Processing Zone, EPZ in that same area because "the armed militants won't allow the then government do the ground breaking" thereby sabotaging what would have being economic breakthrough in Delta state today”.

He averred that until Tompolo is brought to justice, such rascality will never end saying that the only way out is for ‎the FG to disarm criminals who were deliberately armed by the previous administration and mop up small and medium arms in the region to deflate and demystify the military ego of the militants for there to be peace. 

He noted that the opposition governors in the region were playing games with the FG while calling the All Progressives Congress, APC led administration to be weary of the governors who are orchestrating deceits to undermine the corporate existence of Nigeria.
