There is
looming danger to motorists, motorcyclists and passersby following the collapse
of the middle of a bridge along the NPA Expressway close to Old Port gate.
The failed portion of the
bridge along the NPA Expressway popularly called Miller Waterside is gradually
caving in and no attention has been given to it by the relevant federal
agencies like FERMA and Federal Ministry of Works. The gulf at the middle of
the bridge has been increasing in width in the past three weeks following persistent
rainfall.
There are
palpable fears among residents of that area that if urgent steps are not taken
to fix the failed portion, it may lead to the loss of lives and properties,
particularly those who ply the road at night.
