Ovbije Begins Distribution Of Chairs, Desks To Schools In DESOPADEC's Mandate Area


The Member representing Urhobo nationality on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Mr. Sylvester Ovbije on Thursday March 12, commenced the distribution of Chairs and Desks to various schools in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

Mr. Ovbije who was ably represented by his Personal Assistant, Engr. Francis Voke while responding to DESOPADEC Media, stated that the distribution which is an annual exercise by the Commission was aimed at alleviating their plight and creating a good learning environment for pupils and students in the Commission's mandate areas 

 

Mr. Ovbije further stated that the Commission is poised to robustly do more for schools in the oil producing Communities just as the Commission is keying into the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori's MORE agenda for the State, while calling on all Deltans to stand solidly behind the Governor, come 2027 general elections so as to continue benefitting from the dividends of democracy in the oil producing Communities and Delta State in general.

 

The benefitting schools commended the Member and the Commission for the timely intervention and response to their yearnings.

 

The Head Teacher of Anuagba Primary School, Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Comrade Emuobonuvie Edafiono who was elated by the magnanimity and timely intervention, thanked the Commission and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the good gesture, stating that the exercise will go a long way in making the learning environment more conducive in the school.

 

"We thank DESOPADEC and our able Governor for this laudable intervention. May God guide him and DESOPADEC," she said.

 

Also, at Eku Baptist Hospital Staff Primary School, the Head Master, Mr. Idegho Waniko Alex commended the Board of DESOPADEC for the distribution of twenty five (25) seats of double chairs and desks to the school, saying that the school before now, faced a massive shortage of chairs and desks and that this gesture will go a long way in ameliorating the plight of our pupils in the school.

 

Another beneficiary of this scheme is Abraka Grammar School (AGS), Abraka also in Ethiope East Local Government Area where one of the community leaders, Amb. High Chief Augustine Eruotor (JP), Executive Assistant (EA) on Diaspora Matters who is also an old student of Abraka Grammar School, thanked the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Member representing Urhobo nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, Mr. Sylvester Ovbije for the good will gesture in making sure the institution benefitted from the ongoing chairs and desks distribution across the mandate area.

 

Some other respondents appreciated DESOPADEC and the Governor of Delta State for putting school development in the front burner of his administration.

 

In all, a total of one hundred (100) chairs and desks were distributed. While Oro'akpa primary school, Oro'akpo got twenty (20), Abraka Grammar School, Abraka got thirty (30). Anuagba Primary School, Eku got twenty five ( 25) while Eku Baptist Hospital Staff Primary School also got twenty five (25).
