Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Warri South Constituency 1 Bye-Election held Wednesday April 26, Prince Stanley Oritsemolebi Emiko has called on his supporters to remain calm as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Princess (Mrs.) Shola Ogbemi Daibo of Accord Party winner of the poll.
Figure released late Wednesday night shows the Accord Party polled 5, 546 votes with majority of the votes coming from the riverine and rural areas to defeat Prince Stanley Emiko of the APC, who scored a total of 2, 010 votes.
Prince Emiko in a shift response called on his supporters to remain calm, saying “I’m in consultation with the leadership of my party to determine the next line of action”.
Fresh Angle International crew that monitored the exercise yesterday, report that election materials left the Nana Model College Coalition Centre before 9:00am and taken to the various polling units with detachment of Policemen and Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Voting and accreditation commenced simultaneously in all the polling units despite pocket of incidences in some of the units.
