Your administration is visionless, PDP attacks Bello

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State has attacked Governor Yahaya Bello, describing his administration as visionless and lacking in direction.

The PDP’s fang is coming on the heels of recent happenings in the State, Our Kogi State Correspondent reports.

In a statement issued by Kogi State PDP Publicity Secretary, Prince Bode Ogunmola, the party condemned the actions and inactions of the state government concerning the crisis in the education sector in the State.

While noting with great displeasure the alleged destruction of the educational system by the APC–led administration in the state, the PDP observed that the state is heading for the rocks if for over five months the government in power failed in its responsibility to proffer solution to the crisis in the education sector.

It also condemned in totality the arrest, harassment and intimidation of students by security agencies, acting on the instruction of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The statement noted, "It is, therefore, unfortunate that our dear state is being turned to an educationally backward state as a result of the cluelessness of the present government in the state. A government that allows all the tertiary institutions in the state to be closed for over five months is not worth its onions."

"Students of tertiary institutions are entitled to peaceful protest to register their displeasure over the continued shut down of their institutions. We expect the government to be sensitive to its responsibilities. The need for the tertiary institutions in Kogi State to be opened for resumption of academic programmes cannot be over-emphasised." the statement added.
