Obiemenyego to lead Delta Indigenous Publishers after keenly contested polls

Publisher of Zion Nationale Newspaper, one of Delta State most popular hardcore tabloids, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego is to lead the Delta State Chapter of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, ACNPN for the next three years, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

Jude Obiemenyego emerged the new Chairman of the hitherto fractured association by polling 26 votes to defeat his contender, Prince Charles Umejie, Publisher of National Trumpet Newspaper in a keenly contested election held Wednesday May 31 at Asaba, Delta State.

His emergence may have concritized ACNPN in Delta State as virtually all members of the association which formed splinter groups prior to the election participated in the unity poll, adjudged to be free and fair.

Our Correspondent reports that other members of the new executive of ACNPN are: Sir December Gboru-Vice Chairman, Janet Wojuola-Secretary, Nnadi Odiwe-Treasurer, Alaska Ekele-Financial Secretary, Sir Eboagu Cyprian-Publicity Secretary, Dave Onyia-Organizing Secretary and the Co-Publisher/ Managing Editor of Fresh Angle International Newspaper, Segun Michael Asare who emerged as Provost 1.

In his acceptance speech, Jude Obiemenyego thanked God for using the members to vote him as chairman of the association and promised to run all-inclusive government where every member’s interest will be represented.

He said that he will ensure that all the privileges and rights belonging to the association will be dully given to them.

According to Obiemenyego, accountability, transparency, equity and fair play will be the focus points of his administration, stressing that he needs the support of every member to succeed.
