A body known as Anti-Pipeline Vandalization/ Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkery Volunteer Group, has pledged to partner the Nigerian Navy and other relevant security agencies in protecting oil and gas pipelines in the Niger Delta.
Fresh Angle International can report that the group made the pledge during a peaceful protest at the NNS Delta Warri, Delta State, Monday November 26 in support of what they described as the good job the Nigerian Navy is doing in safeguarding crude oil lines in Niger Delta.
Spokesman and National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Fiawei Pathfinder said there are in total support of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, the firm that is carrying out pipeline surveillance work on the Escravos-Warri-NNPC Trunk Pipeline.

While asserting that the company’s operation exemplifies local content, which creates jobs, promotes peace and security, Pathfinder opined that the local content contract has resulted in increase in oil and gas production as well as reduced crude oil theft in Niger Delta.
Comrade Pathfinder condemned in strong terms the recent protest to Government House Asaba over pipeline jobs by some people he described as self-acclaimed ex-militants, who according to him were misguided criminal elements and their action was capable of causing “another round of violence in the creeks, if not properly handled by law enforcement agents”.
He noted that the alleged hijack of surveillance contract job by Ocean Marine Solutions which was the “reason” behind the protest in Asaba was baseless and unfounded.
The group commended the Commanding Officer of NNS Delta, Warri, Officers and Men of the Base for their hard-work in reducing pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft to reasonable minimum as well as creating enabling peaceful environment for oil companies in the Niger Delta to do business.
