The House of Representatives, has begun moves that would ensure that 40% of Nigeria’s yearly budget for the next ten years, is voted for capital projects, Fresh Angle International can report.
This much was revealed today, Wednesday November 27, when Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, on behalf of Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, moved for the second reading of a Bill for an Act to provide that 40% of Nigeria’s Annual Budget is earmarked for Capital Projects in the next ten years.
The motion was reportedly seconded by Hon. Mohammed Jega, during plenary of the House.
Rep. Elumelu in leading the debate, said the Bill was meant: “To correct some imbalance in the percentage allocated to fund capital projects in the National budgets”.
He added that it behoves on the House to lead the call for the correction of the budget anomaly on behalf of Nigerians.
