A middle aged woman, Mrs. Beatrice Ajakpofe has raised alarm over the where-about of her 21-year old son, God-dowell Irhuerhuoghene Ajakpofe who was taken to Liberia by an unknown friend of her husband since June 7, 2013.
Mrs. Ajakpofe who spoke to Fresh Angle on Wednesday September 11 in Warri said her husband’s boss identified as Harrison Iriferita told her husband that his younger brother in Liberia needed someone they will train in business for five years and on graduation, establish the person.
Mrs. Ejakpofe explained that she does not know the wife of the brother of her husband’s boss in Liberia who came to pick her son to Liberia.
According to Mrs. Ajakpofe, the woman in question and her21- year old son left Delta State for Liberia precisely June 7 this year after all necessary documents were made two months after she put to birth and lost the baby.
She said before they left the country, her husband, Michael Ejakpofe told her that the wife to the brother of her husband’s boss in Liberia hinted that her son, God-dowell Irhuerhuoghene should not carry any mobile phone along, noting that she and her husband wrote phone number in a jotter for their son in other for them to communicate with him anytime.
According to her, barely 3 weeks after the son arrived Liberia, he called to inform her that he cannot stay in Liberia, insisting he wants to come back to Nigeria,lamenting that he hardly eats and sleeps.
Harrison reportedly stated that it is a guest house belonging to another person he was handed over to in Liberia they kept him.
Mrs.Ejakpofe, said in the course of one of her discussions with her son via mobile phone,the so called custodian of her son took the phone from him and switched it off,noting that since that day, she has not been able to communicate with her nor the unknown custodian.
The worried looking mother who is a full time house-wife further told Fresh Angle that the unknown custodian of her son caused the communication breach between her and her son and the husband’s boss, Harrison Iriferita demanded the sum of forty thousand naira from them to return their son, God-dowell to Nigeria.
Mrs. Ajakpofe later told Our Senior Correspondent on Thursday September 12 that her husband has paid his boss, Iriferita the forty thousand naira he demanded for the transport of their son back to Nigeria from Liberia. She also told Fresh Angle that the age of her son was reduced from 21 to 19 years to enable him embark on the journey to Liberia.
Father of the 21- year old boy, Mr. Michael Ajakpofe, a Security Officer at Living Truth Church, Warri headquarters who corroborated the story of his wife at his (19Okiti street) residence on Thursday September 12, confirmed that he has paid the sum of forty thousand naira to his boss, Harrison without the consent of his wife.
He also told Fresh Angle that he spoke with his son on the same mobile line which was alleged to have been switched off.
Mrs.Beatrice Ajakpofe later called the mobile line at about 7: 27am Thursday September 12 and it went through in the presence of Our Senior Correspondent, thereafter, the matter was reported to the Area Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Warri South Local Government office.
Meanwhile,Authorities of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Warri has given Mr. Harrison Iriferita a maximum of 21 days and a minimum of 14 days to provide God-dowell Irhuerhuoghene, which it noted must be handed over to them personally for them to hand him over to his parents. Failure to comply with according to the NSCDC will be dealt with by the full weight of the law.
Mr.Iriferita, however told the NSCDC that the 21- day ultimatum given to him is too short for reasons not disclosed.
