In a bid to boost teaching and learning at the foundational level, the Warri North Local Government Area Local Educational Authority, LEA, has donated instructional materials to primary schools in the local government, Our Warri North Correspondent reports.
Speaking to newsmen during the distribution exercise in his office in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, the Executive Secretary of Warri North Local Educational Authority, Comrade Ogbaro Uge-Oritsete Emmanuel explained that the essence was to give teachers the needed encouragement to do their jobs in the face of serious shortage of manpower in primary schools within the Local Government.
While expressing confidence in the educational policy of the Delta State Government under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Comrade Ogbaro praised the efforts of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB and the Warri North Local Government Council under Hon. Francis Maku Eyituoyor for their support to education at the grassroots.
He appealed for more assistance in the form of “grant-in-aid” to enable the Local Education Authority achieves more growth in the development of basic education.
Our Correspondent reports that materials distributed were: 50 Cartons of Chalk, 100 Registers, 100 School Diaries, 350 Notebooks and 40 Packets of Biros.
