Kogi Poly Rector set to complete N268 million hostel Accommodation


After several years that the student have been denied access to school hostels thereby exposing them to many dangers outside the campus, the Acting Rector Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Usman Salisu Ogbo, has reinstated his administration commitment to the total overhauling of the school hostel which will gulf N268 million.

 

Dr. Ogbo assured the students of the institution that the renovation of their hostels would be completed in the next thirty days through the adoption of Public Private Partnership.

 

 

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Dr. Ogbo, who disclosed this on Tuesday while inaugurating Seven different Committees , noted that the N268M was a lone secured from Zenith Bank which was approved by the Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the completion of the hostels

 

The Acting Rector, who commended Governor Bello for the approval, said the hostel would be completed through direct labour approach as approved by the government.

 

He added that the institution would rely solely on its highly committed and integrity proven experts and staff, urging them to work assiduously in meeting the objectives in view of the risk in view of the trust and confidence reposed on them.

 

Dr. Ogbo, directed that the completion work would run simultaneously, assuring of his determination to continue to put Kogi State Polytechnic on the global map of academic excellence.

 

He pointed out that the Students of the institution were included in the Committees, said the time for them to be involved in the decision making is now, urged the experts, staff and students to make judicious use of the opportunity.

 

The terms of reference of the Committees Includes: roofings, structural work, fencing, drainage, painting amongst others that would see to the finishing of the hostels.

 

The Acting Rector inaugurated six committees made up of main hostel 1-12, Mary Ajayi, London hostel, London hostel 1-2, Afakariya, Wada Hostel 1-2 and the Central monitoring committee, headed by the Acting Rector.
