Following yesterday's controversial postponement of the 2015 general elections by INEC, attempts by two Christian clerics to canvass support for Jonathan's re election in the March 28 polls today met stiff resistance and generated heated arguments amongst members of the affected churches.

Report says as soon as the Vicar in Charge of St. Andrew's Cathedral, Ven. Paul Whiskel told members of the church at the end of his sermon that they should vote for Jonathan, a "Christian President “several members of the church, who were mostly the elites stood up and resisted the directive. The members reportedly queried Jonathan's Christianity and the whole episode turned members of the church situated in Okere Road, Warri against themselves.

At Word of Life Bible Church in Warri, founded by CAN National President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the story was not too different.

Immediately the CAN President told his members to make sure they collect their PVC and vote President Jonathan, “a Christian President” some members of the church, who seem to be in support of General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC murmured, while a few others expressed their support for Buhari, setting them in argument against those disposed to President Jonathan's re election. It took the intervention of two Pastors of the church who were around when the argument ensued to calm angry nerves.

Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report that Pastor Oritsejafor told members of his congregation to vote for Jonathan, saying the position of Vice President which the APC gave to Prof. Yemi Osinbajor, a Senior Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church has no constitutional role. It would be recalled that it was in a bid to weaken PDP's argument that APC is a Moslem party that led to the emergence of Prof. Osinbajo as Buhari's Vice Presidential candidate.

The sudden postponement of the Presidential and other elections by INEC after the Commission's Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega told members of the National Council of States that they were ready for the polls earlier fixed for February 14 and 28 has confirmed previous alarm raised by the APC that the PDP led administration was planning to ensure the postponement of the election because the present momentum appears to be in favour of APC.
