Delta Commission - nominees: We consider the threat publication by EIG, insult to Itsekiri people - IYGG

Members of the Itsekiri Youth For Good Governance, IYGG, say they consider the publication by Egbema Integrity Group, EIG, which was reportedly laced with threat over the choice of Delta State Commissioner - nominees from Warri North, as insult to Itsekiri people.                             

IYGG, in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International last night, posited that if the threat is allowed " to stay without caution, it would give room to more unguarded individuals or groups, to come up with similar threats in the nearest future and turn back the hands of government."                                   

In the statement e - signed by the chairman and secretary of Itsekiri Youth For Good Governance, Mone Oris and Engr. Gbesimi C. Okorodudu, respectively, the group, noted that the appointment of Orode Uduaghan as Commissioner - nominee by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwrori, was as a result of her father's ( Ex - Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan) input in the election of Rt. Hon. Oborevwrori as governor, not because Orode Uduaghan, is from Warri North Local Government Area.                                         

According to the pro Itsekiri youth group, same people threatening the state governor and Itsekiris in Warri North over the appointment of Orode Uduaghan and Dr. Isaac Wilkie, " are celebrating the appointment of Senator James Manager's son, Mr. Funye Manager as Commissioner - nominee."                                 

IYGG, averred: " It is either they ( EIG) accept our kind benevolence towards them, in building peace, or we withdraw it and apply that which other tribes do in their various local government.                                            

"Over the past one month, we the Itsekiris, have been mocked by other ethnic groups in Delta state, especially the Ijaws, for not producing a Senator, permanent secretary and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly.                               

"We call on the good people of Egbema, who know how government operates, to caution members of the shameless Egbema Integrity Group, who were not on ground, to vote for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the last election. Warri North Local Government Area, got one commissioner - nominee, not two as claimed by Barr. Francis Abulu's EIG."
