The Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom installed by the 20th Olu of Warri (Ogiame Ikenwoli) Chief Ayirimi Emami, says the unending controversy surrounding the delineation of units, wards and constituencies in Warri Federal Constituency, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, might get to a level where the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, might direct his Attorney-General to head to Supreme Court for interpretation.
Chief Emami, who stressed that President Tinubu specifically ordered name change of the three controversial wards in Warri South, vis-à-vis; Boluama, Ewein and Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Urban, disclosed that he had received lots of threat with people saying he is not the only one in Itsekiri Nation to be speaking about controversies surrounding the delineation by INEC.
While stating that he will never allow Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo to be shortchanged in the delineation exercise, Chief Emami, who was a prominent figure in the 7-man delegation that represented Itsekiri Nation, during the peace meeting convened by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on June 11, asserted: “The Supreme Court didn't direct INEC to allocate our land to any ethnic nationality or that of other ethnic nationality to Itsekiri. I won't allow any of the tribes I'm biologically connected to, short-change each other, but it is obvious the others, want to take what belongs to Itsekiri.”
Fresh Angle International, can report that Chief Emami spoke at the Ologbotsere Hall in his palatial private residence, Egbokodo in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Monday June 22, while addressing Itsekiri Nation, particularly members of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisanren Descendants of Warri Kingdom.
“People are saying I should not talk. I will always stand for the truth and progress of Itsekiri Nation, irrespective of what people say. I have not been happy with the outcome of the ward delineation, hence I said no dancing. INEC are not town planners. I'm the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, so I can speak on the three Warris, apart from my biological ties to the three Warris. We must ensure that INEC do the needful. We will not sleep until the names are changed”, he averred.
Spokesman of Ologbotsere Eyinmisanren Descendants of Warri Kingdom, Comr. Alex Eyengho, who addressed newsmen during the gathering, noted: “At the Presidential meeting held in Abuja on the 11th of June 2026, attended by representatives of the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo ethnic nationalities, alongside the Governor of Delta State and relevant stakeholders, efforts were directed towards achieving a peaceful, fair and sustainable resolution of the issues arising from the Supreme Court-ordered delineation exercise within the Warri Federal Constituency.”

Comr. Eyengho, while reading the press statement e-signed by himself, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Prince Yemi Emiko and Sir Amorighoye S. Mene, further noted: “With respect to the Warri South Local Government Area, the issue under consideration concerned the nomenclature of three wards, namely Boluama, Ewein and Ogbe-joh Warri Urban, with directives issued for the matter to be addressed appropriately in the interest of peace and equity.
“The Itsekiris and Urhorbos of Warri South LGA were unambiguously emphatic in stating the fact that the Ijaws have no single community in Warri South LGA but have some communities in the Warri North and Warri South-West LGAs.
“Recent developments indicate that INEC has proceeded to host and retain the disputed ward names on its national website, contrary to the intendment of the Presidential intervention. This action has generated widespread concern among stakeholders and has further heightened tensions within the affected communities.
“Equally disturbing is the perceived inconsistency in the implementation of the Presidential directive, regarding wards allocations within Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas. While certain aspects that favour one ethnic nationality appear to have been accommodated, other directives intended to balance, fairness and inclusiveness across the three local government areas, have not received similar treatment.

“Stakeholders note that the Presidential intervention sought to promote peaceful coexistence and equitable representation among all ethnic nationalities in the Warri Federal Constituency. Consequently, any selective implementation of those directives undermines confidence in the process and threatens the fragile peace been painstakingly maintained.
“We therefore call on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to immediately and fully comply with the entirety of the Presidential directives and understandings arising from the peace engagements concerning Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas.
“We further note that the Itsekiri and Urhobo ethnic nationalities, being the two dominant ethnic groups in Warri South Local Government Area, have jointly maintained that the Presidential directives should be implemented in full and without discrimination across all three Local Government Areas that constitute the Warri Federal Constituency.
“The Warri Federal Constituency occupies a strategic position within the Niger Delta and remains a critical component of Nigeria's economic and energy infrastructure. Any action capable of aggravating ethnic tensions within the area, carries significant implications for peace, security and national stability.
“Accordingly, we urge INC, security agencies and all relevant authorities to act swiftly in the interest of justice, fairness, peace and national unity by ensuring that the resolutions arising from the Presidential intervention are fully respected and implemented.
“We reaffirm our commitment to peaceful engagement, constitutional processes, the rule of law and constructive dialogue among all ethnic nationalities within the Warri Federal Constituency.”
