NAIS facilitates fresh tertiary education scholarships for indigent students

The National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS has facilitated fresh scholarships for more indigent students of Itsekiri extraction in tertiary institutions, Our Senior Correspondent reports.

Speaking during the award of the fresh scholarships sponsored by Barr. Alero Ogbemi Barlow, Warri Federal Constituency hopeful in the 2015 elections, National President of NAIS, Comrade Austin Leleji lauded Barr. Barlow for deeming it feet to award scholarship to people of her constituency and enjoined others who are endowed enough to emulate the gesture.

In a remark at the presentation of the scholarship, current Miss NAIS, Tuoyo Blessing commended Barr. Barlow for the scholarship and expressed optimism that more Itsekiri indigent students will benefit in the programme.

Fresh Angle gathered that Barr. Barlow has been using her contacts to sponsor students across the country to foreign schools, especially to Malaysia and other parts of the world to study any course of their field.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Adviser to the Director General, Alero Ogbemi Barlow Campaign Organization, Engr. Odongharo Besidone Bawo who represented Barr. Barlow and Prince David Omaghomi, the sponsors will continually contribute their quota towards uplifting educational development in Warri Kingdom.

He urged the beneficiaries to see it as an opportunity to study hard and make Itsekiris proud after graduation.

Engr. Bawo used the medium to appeal to well meaning individuals to come to the aid of indigent Itsekiri students in order to create the best quality of youths for the advancement of Itsekiri Nation.

One of the beneficiaries of the scholarship from Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe Oghara, Okpaghoro Sonia Kaje, said she has never seen such gesture in her life and enjoined good spirited individuals to emulate Barr. Barlow.

Other beneficiaries: Oleju Anet, Etsebanro Sandra Basshuku of DELSU and Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe Oghara both spoke in the same vein, calling on concerned sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom, oil companies and others to support the training of younger students to get quality education.
