James Hope University, JHU, Lekki-Lagos, on Thursday November 27, held its maiden matriculation ceremony, inducting a total of 132 post graduate students for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of James Hope University, Prof. Austin Nosike, noted that the event did not only represent a milestone in the institution’s growth and development, but the beginning of academic life for the first generation of students, “who will carry the James Hope University identity into the wider world.”
The widely travelled University Don, who detailed breakdown of the matriculating students as 74 for the 2024/2025 session and 58 for the 2025/2026 session (September intake) stated: ‘We are privileged to host distinguished speakers, who will inspire and set the intellectual tone for the ceremony.”
“The maiden matriculation demonstrates; increasing recognition of the University’s academic offerings, high market relevance of JHU’s postgraduate programmes, strong interest in industry-aligned programmes such as Finance, Economic Development and Innovation as well as a solid foundation for future institutional expansion, marketing efforts, and programme strengthening.

“The matriculation signals a strong beginning for James Hope University’s academic journey, while highlighting the University’s commitment to producing innovative leaders and contributing to national development through postgraduate education”, Prof. Nosike, emphasized.
Chartered Secretary, Administrator as well as Lawyer, Mrs. Ganiyat Taiwo Olusesi, who was the keynote speaker, exposed the matriculants to strategic importance of human capital and workforce innovation in nation building, while delivering a lecture titled, “Creating a constructive shift in the Nigerian economy through workforce innovation.”
Respected leader in digital innovation, commerce and venture building, Mr. Ina Alogwu, gave insights on how to deepen the students’ understanding of the complexities and opportunities that define the Nigerian entrepreneurial landscape, when he spoke on theme: “Understanding the intricacies of entrepreneurship in the dynamic ecosystem of the Nigerian economy”
