Just In:  NSCDC arrest four crude oil thieves in Delta

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Delta State Command has arrested four suspected crude oil thieves and impounded three trucks loaded with 42, 500 litres of the product in Delta, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the arrest was made at about 2:00am Tuesday April 25, following intelligence report.

The Delta State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Beatrice Irabor, while speaking to Journalists at the point where the suspects purportedly vandalized the Pipeline and Product Marketing Company crude line at Effurun Sapele Road, said they got intelligence report that some group of vandals were vandalizing the pipeline and immediately acted on the tipoff .

Commandant Beatrice Irabor said the four suspects whose names are: Ejiofor Nweke, Naboboh Taiye, Monday Ohikhena and Friday Oboh will be arraigned in court after further investigations.

The Command also apprehended three trucks loaded with suspected crude with registration number LSB 04XG, 18,000 litres, another truck with registration number TRN 98 ZG, 2,500 litres and the third truck loaded with 22,000 litres of crude oil.

The Armed Squad Commander, ASC1Odigie Asibor and Officer in-Charge of Anti Vandals, Delta State Command, NSCDC both noted that they were able to effect the arrest of the suspects who allegedly drilled the pipeline before connecting it to an hosepipe linking the trucks due to prompt action.

Fresh Angle International can report that officials of NNPC, PPMC and MRS who were at the vandalized pipeline refused to speak to the press on the alleged theft.
