The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema has warned against unauthorized erection of billboards in Warri, stressing that anyone or institution flouting the directive would be made to face the wrath of the law.

Hon. Edema who handed down the warning Wednesday April 20 through the Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Kenneth George during the clean-up of Major roads and streets in Warri, noted that his administration is determined to make Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State the cleanest, hence the daily environmental sanitation in the area by officials of the council despite paucity of fund.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Kenneth George cautioned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse along the median of roads in Warri, stressing that anyone caught will be handed over to the relevant security agency.

He admonished residents of Warri to patronize approved refuse vendors so as to sustain the operation Keep Warri Clean Project of Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema administration.

The Head of Environment Department, Warri South Local Government Council, Mr. Solomon Dafe Umukoro in an interview commended Hon. Edema for making sure that Warri South gets facelift despite poor monthly allocation and enjoined other Local Government Area Chairmen in the state to emulate the Warri South Chairman.

Our Correspondent reports that areas covered during the sanitation exercise include Odion Road, Cemetery Road, Ogunu Road, Airport Road, Essi Layout, Okere Market and Okumagba Estate areas.
