In a bid to shore up its revenue profile, authorities of Warri South Local Government Council have sought the cooperation of a foremost indigenous Oil and Gas firm, Matrix Energy Limited to meet up to its obligation to the council so as to assist it in providing enabling environment for the company and others to operate.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Tidi who led a delegation of the council executive to the Ifie-Warri based company, January 31, assured the indigenous firm of a peaceful working environment and cautioned against indiscriminate parking of the company’s trucks along the road so as to avoid gridlock and other safety concerns.

He admonished the firm to always live up to its corporate social responsibility to Ifie, its host community and assured that all forms of youth restiveness in the area will soon be a thing of the past based on the policy thrust of his administration.

The Warri South Council Boss assured the management of Matrix Energy that he will take up the issue of constructing a fire station around the company’s vicinity to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for necessary action.

The Chief Operating Officer of Matrix Energy, Mr. Luqman Alada in his remark, stated that the company has addressed the issue of indiscriminate parking of its trucks and enumerated some of the company’s CSR obligations to the host community, Ifie.

He enjoined the Warri South Council authorities to provide a friendlier environment for Matrix to operate, saying the company’s operation has turned around the economic fortunes of the area.

On his part, the Group Head, Health, Safety and Environment of Matrix Energy, Mr. Fred Olomuro, appealed to the Warri South Chairman to collaborate with the Delta State Government with a view to building a fire station to arrest possible fire outbreaks.

He urged the council to address indiscriminate dumping of refuse along the road to avoid its adverse effects.
