COVID-19 lockdown made my business boom - Young Enterpreneur

The owner of Arure Global Concept Limited, Miss Oboerhiri Ojenikoh, has said that the nationwide COVID-19 Lockdown brought about the boom of her Virtual Top Up business.

The business which comprises of Arure's Natural Oils, which deals on various types of natural oils such as carrot, coconut, turmeric, Jamaican black castor, lemon, and mustard, which was registered in 2016 and Arure Global Services Virtual Top Up for the purchase of Airtime, mobile data subscription, payment of electricity bills and cable TV subscriptions.

Miss Oboerhiri Ojenikoh explained that Arure Global Services Virtual Top Up which started earlier this year in June during the Covid-19 Lockdown, boomed even when the lockdown was in full swing, capitalized on the fact that people did not have enough money to purchase Natural Oils but used more of Airtime, Data, and Cable TV since they were indoors and could only use their mobile phones, the Internet and Cable Television to entertain themselves. This led to the creation of a VTU (Virtual Top-Up) Business called Arure Global Services. Also she have trained some people most of whom are women to start up their own Virtual Top Up business.

She confided that due to the fact that she still believed in Mobile Businesses, she got a Web Portal created on which people from any location can register and purchase these services for their family members, friends, and themselves.

Miss Ojenikoh quipped that previously her entire focus was on the production of natural oils, with constant research on how to improve her product to appeal to a wide range of customers, she discovered that during the lockdown people did not have enough money to patronise her products but they were purchasing airtime to subscribe for mobile data and more people wanted uninterrupted electricity supply to enjoy their cable subscriptions so she branched into that segment to cater for those people's needs and resulted in the formation of Arure Global Services in June 2020.

The enterprising young lady have always been a firm believer in Mobile Office and Mobile Business. Back in 2008, during her 300Level Undergraduate Study at the University of Benin, Edo State, she dabbled into business for the first time as a Mobile Business Centre; using  a laptop and a printer, she typed projects and reports in any space she could find be it a laboratory or an empty classroom.

After her Youth Service, she began making Body Perfume in 2012/2013, called Ebony Spice, but due to customers criticisms, she threw in the towel and stopped manufacturing and selling it. She became frustrated and tried leaving the country. Few years later, in 2016, after another visa denial, a friend encouraged her to try another business. So she turned to God for inspiration, prayed, and read a book titled "Understanding Divine Direction" by David O. Oyedepo. The same night she had a dream, upon waking up drew a sketch of what she had seen, a spa, in her dream.

Realising that she does not have the money to set up a spa yet, decided on making the Natural Oils that are used in the Spa. This was how Arure Natural Oils came into being.

She disclosed that she also use these Oils to make Bath Soap or Bars for all skin type adding that the Natural Oils could also be used for various purposes such as, Cooking, Hair treatment, Skin treatment, etc. Adding that she has also trained most women to make these natural oils.

Finally, the enterpreneur is outside Nigeria but still handles her businesses in Nigeria. She can be contacted on her web portal, http://buyvtu.com/arureglobalvtu/login, or on Gmail via oojenikoh@gmail.com or via phone +2347035050949.
