D/South 2027: Edema says he’s yet to decide, declares ‘we are considering worthy individuals for Reps seat’

Sole Representative of The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III to NNPCL JV Partners, Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, says he hasn’t taken any decision whether or not he will vie for the Delta South Senatorial District seat in the National Assembly ahead of the 2027 polls, just as he noted that his team is actively considering “worthy individuals to represent Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives”.

Prince Edema, made the declaration in response to calls, urging him to contest the Delta South Senatorial seat in 2027 general elections.

The Itsekiri Youths for Good Governance, many other groups and well-meaning supporters across different communities, had on Sunday March 29, called on the Warri Monarch’s Aide, to declare interest for the coveted legislative seat, describing Prince Edema as a transformational leader, whose track record in the private sector and community service, makes him the ideal candidate to represent the interests of the district.

The ex-President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Monday March 30, averred that he and his team, are tired of the current situation of Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, saying it “has not yielded anything tangible.”

Whilst stating that at this moment, his focus remains firmly on the responsibility entrusted to him as Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL JV Partners and the resolve to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Prince Edema, asserted: “My team and I are consulting widely, listening carefully, and evaluating all options with the seriousness they deserve. When the time is right, and when a clear decision is reached, you the people will hear from me directly.”

Official Response To The Call To Contest As Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District

My dear brothers and sisters, I deeply appreciate the call and overwhelming show of confidence from the Itsekiri Youths for Good Governance and the many other groups and well-meaning supporters across our communities. Your belief in me is not taken for granted. It is a powerful reminder of the bond we share and the collective hope we carry for a better Delta South.

I am truly humbled by this call to serve at a higher level. However, I must speak plainly and with a strong sense of responsibility to you all.

At this moment, my focus remains firmly on the responsibility already entrusted to me as Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL JV Partners. This is not just a position-_it is a duty to our people, to our future, and to the trust you have placed in me. I am fully committed to delivering on this assignment committed into my hand by our benevolent Overlord- His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR the Olu of Warri with integrity, hard work, and visible results. I will not be distracted from the work that still lies ahead.

As of today, I have not taken any decision regarding contesting in the 2027 general elections.

Our immediate political task is clear and non-negotiable. Together with my supporters and political family across Nigeria, we are fully mobilized and committed to ensuring the return of the incumbent President His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027.

In Delta State, we are equally resolute in securing the re-election of the Executive Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as continuity remains vital for the progress we seek.

At the same time, we are strongly and actively considering worthy individuals to represent Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as we are tired of the current situation which has not yielded to anything tangible. We believe in building a united front that reflects the true interests of our people.

Let me assure you: we are not idle. My team and I are consulting widely, listening carefully, and evaluating all options with the seriousness they deserve. When the time is right, and when a clear decision is reached, you the people will hear from me directly.

This call you have made, has not pressured me; rather, it has strengthened my resolve. It has renewed my determination to serve you with even greater courage, humility, and dedication. I remain one of you, and I will continue to stand with you.
